Event Report: “Building & Construction Materials Expo (Presented by Nikkei Group) – Japan GRC Industry Association

We are pleased to report that we participated and cooperated as a member of the Building and Construction Materials Exhibition (sponsored by Nikkei Group), in which the Japan GRC Manufacturers Association exhibited to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the introduction of GRC in Japan.

▼What is GRC?
GRC is an abbreviation for Glass Fiber Reinforced Cement, which is made by reinforcing cement or cement mortar with alkali resistant glass fiber. GRC products are cement products reinforced with alkali resistant glass fibers (Glass Fiber Reinforced Cement), which were put to practical use in the late 1965s as a pioneer in fiber reinforced concrete. In 1973, the technology was introduced to Japan. Currently, in accordance with revisions to the Building Standard Law, etc., the company continues to maintain and manage the product as NM-8313.

▼What is the Japan GRC Industrial Association?
In GRC, there were two groups, “Introductory Technical Group” and “Domestic Technical Group,” each of which obtained the general rule certification for noncombustible materials and were active in the field. Currently, our president, Masayuki Sakurai, serves as the chairman of the Industrial Association.
