Special Cooperation for Architecture Student Workshop Daigoji 2024

This workshop is organized by Art and Architect Festa, a non-profit organization, with the aim of “encouraging students majoring in architecture and environmental design to leave the campus and create actual social works in a given location under the guidance of lecturers who are mainly architects active in Japan and abroad. The purpose of the program is to “create actual social works of art in a given location under the guidance of instructors who are mainly architects.

Two of our employees assisted in the production process at the site of the workshop, and Sakurai, the representative of the company, critiqued the work.

The setting for the 2024 workshop was Daigoji Temple in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. Daigoji Temple was founded in 874 by Rigen Daishi Seiho, a grandson and disciple of Kobo Daishi (Kukai), with the Haryu Kannon and Nyoirin Kannon at the top of Kasatori Mountain.

Forty-seven students selected from all over Japan were divided into 10 groups to learn about the historical background and characteristics of the area while making follies.

Undergraduate and graduate students majoring in architecture and design gather at this workshop to learn the process of creating architecture through hands-on experience under the guidance of architects and other professionals who are active on the front lines of the field.
