Conversation with President Katsuhiko Hibino of Tokyo University of the Arts is now available

2025.5.14

AGB has conducted a dialogue between Mr. Katsuhiko Hibino, President of Tokyo University of the Arts, and our upcycling designer, Mayu Taniguchi, and has published the contents of the dialogue in PR TIMES STORY and on YouTube.

東京藝術大学 芸術未来研究所にて

Taniguchi has been involved in upcycling art using marine litter since she was a student at the Tokyo University of the Arts, and is currently working on the exterior of buildings as an employee of the company, while continuing to practice bridging art and architecture with a view toward a sustainable society as part of her joint research with the university.

In this dialogue, starting from Taniguchi’s activities, we carefully exchanged views on upcycling efforts from the perspective of facade engineering, ideas on balancing environmental considerations and creativity, and how to deal with materials.

As AGB, this is the first attempt to transmit the dialogue with leading figures in the academic and artistic worlds in the form of articles and videos.
This initiative, which confronts the theme of upcycling marine litter head-on, is a challenge that we are still in the process of exploring, but we hope that it will provide an opportunity to reconsider how public relations and information sharing should be conducted in the future.

We hope that this article and video will provide new perspectives and inspiration not only as part of our public relations activities, but also to many people involved in the field of architecture.
