This workshop is organized by Art and Architect Festa, a non-profit organization, with the aim of “having students majoring in architecture and environmental design leave the campus and create actual social works in a given location under the guidance of lecturers, mainly architects who are active in Japan and abroad. We have provided special cooperation from the viewpoint of nurturing the bearers of “artworks”.
In FY2015, the stage was set at Koyasan (Mt. Koya) in Wakayama Prefecture, where the 1,200th anniversary of the founding of the mountain is approaching.
Students from all over Japan conducted fieldwork at Koyasan to learn about the history and characteristics of this sacred mountain surrounded by 1,000-meter-high mountains.
Our Managing Director, Mr. Onoda, served as a critic, and our employees provided on-site assistance in the process of creating the artwork.
