Special Cooperation for Architecture Student Workshop Asuka Village 2016

2016.9.4

This workshop is organized by Art and Architect Festa, a non-profit organization, with the aim of “having students majoring in architecture and environmental design leave the campus and create actual social works in a given location under the guidance of lecturers, mainly architects who are active in Japan and abroad. We have provided special cooperation from the viewpoint of fostering the bearers of “artworks”.

In fiscal 2016, we created a work in Asuka Village, which is known for its many excavated palaces and historical sites from the Asuka Period and is also referred to as “the spiritual home of Japan,” and presented the results at a public presentation for the general public and local residents at the Shikishin no Yakata with the cooperation of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.

Sakurai, the president of MHI, served as a critic, and MHI employees were on site to assist in the process of creating the artwork.
