Former AGB President: Takeo Suzumi reappointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shibaura Institute of Technology

Takeo Suzumi, our former president, has been reappointed as President of Shibaura Institute of Technology.

After graduating from the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Shibaura Institute of Technology in 1970, Mr. Suzumi worked for AGC Corporation before moving to our company, which was a subsidiary at the time. Since then, he has been involved in management for a long time and has devoted himself to the development of the architectural exterior field.

As President and Representative Director of the Company, he has promoted the building of the company’s foundation while placing importance on the connection between technology and the field. In particular, I have pursued the value of an integrated system in the field of architectural exteriors through the development of a system that organically links the design, manufacturing, and construction processes.

Since assuming the position of Chancellor in 2020, he has worked to reform the university by increasing the percentage of students entering graduate school, increasing the percentage of female students, and promoting the acceptance of students from rural areas. I believe that his reappointment to the Board of Trustees is a recognition of his ongoing efforts.

The “practical learning” principle that Shibaura Institute of Technology upholds overlaps in many areas with the concept of “practical knowledge” that we emphasize. We believe that the accumulation and inheritance of technology, as well as a commitment to social implementation, are values that should be shared beyond the boundaries of education and industry.
